Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Library, AIIMS Kalyani, is delighted to announce the organisation of the 6th International Conference "Smart Libraries for Smart Nation: Innovation and Inclusive Knowledge for Viksit Bharat @2047"(SLSN 2027) in collaboration with the Central Government Library Association (CGLA), Kolkata Branch,to be held at Dr. B. C. Roy Auditorium, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal, from 28–30 January 2027.
Conference Focus
The theme of the conference "Smart Libraries for Smart Nation: Innovation and Inclusive Knowledge for Viksit Bharat @2047" the conference aims to examine the emerging role of government libraries, with a special reference to medical libraries as knowledge partners in healthcare education, clinical practice, research, and evidence-based decision-making. It seeks to deliberate on the professional, technological, and service-related challenges faced by medical and other librarians and to identify practical strategies for strengthening access to quality biomedical information, digital health resources, research support services, and user-centred information delivery.
The Conference will provide a focused platform for all the librarians, faculty members, researchers, policymakers, technology partners, students, and other stakeholders to exchange ideas, share best practices, and discuss innovations in library services. It will encourage collaboration for developing smart, inclusive, and technology-enabled libraries that can support teaching, learning, research productivity, and national information goals.

About Library
AIIMS, Kalyani is one of the new AIIMS established as a part of the initiative under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) by the Ministry of Health and family welfare, Govt. of India and the Central Library was inaugurated on 8th March 2021 by Dr. Ramji Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Kalyani.
The Central Library is a learning resource center being an integral part of the academic and research work and continues to expand its collection in print and digital form.
It also designs and delivers innovative services to support teaching, learning, research, and other scholarly activities. The library has initiated several important activities and services during the reporting year.Click to Know more

This is a monthly listing of the new books, monographs, and pamphlets added to the library.
- Periodical Alert Service
This is a fortnightly listing of the new periodicals received in the library during the fortnight.
